Electronic Arts announces closure of BioWare, the Mass Effect studio

Electronic Arts has announced the closure of BioWare, the studio behind Mass Effect. The announcement was made in October 2026. A separate petition to save the series had 299,618 signatures at the time of reporting, and campaigners bought billboards in Times Square, New York. The Mass Effect TV series remains in production.
