Paul Henry joins ACT's election race, steps down from TVNZ board

Television broadcaster Paul Henry will run for ACT in the election, David Seymour announced Tuesday in Auckland. Henry resigned from TVNZ's board the same morning, saying the position had become untenable after his candidacy went public. He had held the board role for one year. Henry previously stood for National in Wairarapa in 1999, losing to Georgina Beyer.
