Paul Henry enters election race as ACT candidate, quits TVNZ board same morning
Television broadcaster Paul Henry will contest the election as an ACT Party candidate, David Seymour announced Tuesday morning in Auckland. Henry resigned from TVNZ's board that same morning, telling reporters the role had become "untenable" once his candidacy became public. He was appointed to the board the previous year. Henry stood unsuccessfully for National in Wairarapa in 1999, defeated by Georgina Beyer.
