NZ First plans law to make accessibility standards legally recognised
New Zealand First has announced plans to introduce Accessibility Standards Legislation, which would make accessibility standards legally recognised. The party announced the policy ahead of a visit to the Disability Expo 2026 in Manukau. Leader Winston Peters said the proposal would set up a framework for accessibility standards. The party says the aim is to ease barriers faced by disabled people.
