Negotiator Jailed for Selling Ransomware Victims' Secrets to BlackCat

Angelo Martino, a negotiator at incident response firm DigitalMint, was sentenced to 70 months in prison for colluding with BlackCat ransomware operators since April 2023. He sold confidential details about victims' financial positions and negotiating strategies to the attackers, enabling over $75 million in ransom extraction from five organizations. Martino also deployed ransomware directly with co-conspirators.
