Japan's Anime Market Hits Record JPY4.45 Trillion in 2025

Japan's anime market reached a record JPY4.45 trillion ($28.2 billion) in 2025, up 15.8% on 2024, according to preliminary figures presented by Hasegawa Masahiro, editor-in-chief of the AJA Anime Industry Report, at TIFFCOM, a Tokyo film market. The total covers cinema, merchandise, home video, streaming and rights sales. Final figures are due in the December 2026 edition of the report.
