Whakaata Māori polls show Te Pati Māori candidates leading in four of the seven Māori electorates, Labour leading in two and the Greens in one. Te Pati Māori is campaigning for the electorate vote only, the vote for a local MP, and telling supporters to give their party vote to the Greens or Labour.
