Volkswagen Cuts Production and Model Lineup by Half
Volkswagen announced plans to reduce annual production capacity from 12 million vehicles to 9 million and cut its model lineup in half—its largest overhaul in 89 years. The company also plans to reduce manufacturing complexity by 75 percent. VW attributes the moves to tariffs and competition, framing them as essential to becoming the world's most attractive automaker by 2030.
