Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen in Sunrise on the Reaping

Jennifer Lawrence is reprising Katniss Everdeen for the first time in 11 years, she told the Call Her Daddy podcast, Variety reported on 28 October 2026. The Lionsgate prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, follows a young Haymitch, played by Joseph Zada, in the 50th Hunger Games. It opens in cinemas on 20 November.
