Mahmoud Khalil Asks US Supreme Court to Overturn Ruling in His Case

On October 19, 2026, Reuters reported that Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate and US permanent resident, asked the US Supreme Court, the country's highest court, to overturn a ruling in his case. Khalil was previously held for three months without criminal charge. He was released from immigration custody on June 20, 2025.
