Manchester United would pay Newcastle about £3m to hire Eddie Howe

Manchester United would have to pay Newcastle about £3m to appoint Eddie Howe as head coach, The Guardian reports. Howe left Newcastle in July under a contract deal that entitles them to compensation. United would also pay a smaller fee for his staff, led by Jason Tindall. Michael Carrick remains in charge for now, after eight games without a win.
