Guardian review of Gambon biography reports CV padding and false claim about his mother's death

The Guardian's review of Jasper Rees's authorised biography reports that Michael Gambon padded his CV with theatre experience to win a job at Dublin's Gate theatre. It also reports that he falsely told the National Theatre his mother had died to excuse a late arrival at rehearsal. The book, from Century, is due 29 October.
