US Military Bans BYD Vehicles from Kadena Air Base in Okinawa

The US military has banned all BYD vehicles from Kadena Air Base on Japan's Okinawa island, it said October 27, 2026. The ban covers private cars, taxis and delivery vehicles. Gate guards turn BYD vehicles away. Lt. Col. Alli Stormer, a base spokesperson, says the risk to personnel and the mission cannot be reduced to an acceptable level.
