Lula Reelected President of Brazil; Bolsonaro Refuses to Concede
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been reelected president of Brazil, the electoral authority (TSE) said Sunday, October 25, 2026. He beat right-wing senator Flávio Bolsonaro by nearly 4.4 million votes in the runoff. Bolsonaro refused to concede and says he will seek annulment, a formal request to throw out the result. It has not been decided.
