Judi Dench Says Failing Sight Has Ended Her Stage and Film Acting

Dame Judi Dench, 91, says she can no longer act on stage or in film because her sight has failed. Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, as reported by BBC News on 21 October 2026, she said she "can't do a play anymore" and "can't do a film anymore". She was first diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration in 2012. No new stage or film project was announced.
