OpenAI's Former Product Lead Joins Reusable-Rocket Startup Board
Kevin Weil, who departed OpenAI's product division in October, has joined the board of Stoke Space, a Seattle rocket company pursuing fully reusable launch vehicles. Weil and his wife already invested through their fund, Scribble Ventures. The startup has raised $1.34 billion and aims to fly its Nova rocket in 2026. The hire raises questions about OpenAI's own space ambitions, though Stoke's CEO affirmed Weil's role focuses solely on the startup.
