OpenAI's Former Product Chief Joins Reusable-Rocket Startup Board

Kevin Weil, who led product at OpenAI until October 2025, has joined the board of Stoke Space, a Seattle startup building fully reusable rockets. Weil and his wife were already early investors through their fund, Scribble Ventures. Stoke Space has raised $1.34 billion and targets Nova's first flight in 2026. CEO Andy Lapsa said Weil's focus is Stoke itself, not any OpenAI initiative—but the move renews questions about OpenAI's separate rocket ambitions.
