Vatican Says Pope Leo XIV Needs No Further Cancer Treatment
The Vatican said Pope Leo XIV needs no further cancer treatment. Final lab tests on the lung tumor removed October 13 showed the cancer had not spread. The tissue was identified as lung adenocarcinoma. Surgeons removed the lower lobe of his right lung in an operation of about 90 minutes with no complications. The pope, 70, had no symptoms.
