Iran says seven oil tankers were hit by fire or damage near the Strait of Hormuz
Iran said seven oil tankers caught fire or were damaged in and around the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. Before the war, about one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) passed through it. Tehran has tried to exert control over the strait since February 28, when US-Israeli strikes on Iran began.
