Meghan Markle says 2018 letter on father went to police and royal protection unit

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, says she is "deeply distressed" by accusations that her estranged father, Thomas Markle, had indecent images of children. In a statement published by Hello magazine on 23 October 2026, she said a 2018 letter with "troubling and disturbing allegations" went to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection, the royal protection unit. Thomas Markle denies them.
