Essex sign Laurie Evans from Surrey on one-year deal

Essex have signed batter Laurie Evans, 39, from Surrey on a one-year white-ball contract, BBC Sport reported on 22 October. The deal includes an option to play in the County Championship, England's multi-day domestic competition. Evans has scored almost 8,000 T20 runs in 382 appearances, with a strike-rate just under 140. Chris Silverwood is Essex's director of cricket.
