UK energy secretary leaning towards rejecting Rosebank North Sea oilfield
UK Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh is leaning towards rejecting approval for the Rosebank oilfield, one of the North Sea's biggest fields, officials told the Guardian. No final decision has been taken; a ruling is expected later in 2026. Rosebank would emit around seven times the carbon of the Jackdaw gasfield, which she approved the same day.
