43-year-old Brendan Nugent named over alleged car attack on Helen Haines

The man accused of allegedly ramming independent MP Helen Haines with a car has been identified as 43-year-old Brendan Nugent from Tarrawingee.

Police allege Nugent drove a Toyota in Monday's attack outside Haines's Wangaratta electoral office in north-east Victoria. Haines is in critical condition in hospital. Nugent remains in police custody.
