Parkwood seeks dismissal and sanctions in Alien Superstar sample case

Parkwood Entertainment asked a federal judge on Oct. 15 to permanently dismiss Shuji Hirose's refiled copyright claim over the intro to Beyoncé's "Alien Superstar" and to impose monetary sanctions on Hirose and attorney DaShawn Hayes. Parkwood's filing, reported by Billboard, called the claims "objectively baseless". A hearing is scheduled for February.
