Michael becomes first biopic to pass US$1 billion worldwide

Antoine Fuqua's Michael passed US$1 billion at the worldwide box office after opening 24 April, Variety reported, becoming the first biopic in history to do so and Lionsgate's biggest release ever. Star Jaafar Jackson told Variety he wrote down the US$1 billion target two years before filming began.
