FA replaces 5v5 with 3v3 for England under-7s

England's under-7s have swapped 5v5 for 3v3 as the entry format for 2026-27, the FA says. Games have no goalkeepers, no referees and no substitutes. It replaces 5v5, the starting point until last season. The FA says 3v3 keeps players more involved and gives the best introduction to football.
