Fuel relief payment reaches only 60 per cent of target families

Inland Revenue figures show an average of 95,000 families receive the government's fuel relief payment each week, short of the 157,000 predicted when announced in March. About 106,120 families have received it at least once. Finance Minister Nicola Willis says the design of the scheme, not poor uptake, explains the gap.
