Ex-Congo president Kabila to lead new coalition against Tshisekedi

Former Congo president Joseph Kabila will lead a new political-military coalition challenging President Felix Tshisekedi. The Front for the Refoundation of the Nation was announced in Goma, the eastern city under M23 rebel control since January 2025. Kabila ruled from 2001 to 2019, when Tshisekedi succeeded him.
