Pope Leo discharged from hospital after lung cancer surgery
Pope Leo, 71, left Rome's Gemelli hospital on Saturday after surgery to remove a cancerous lung tumour. Doctors deemed him "fit for discharge" after blood tests and a chest X-ray. Surgeons removed part of his right lung. The Vatican said it was adenocarcinoma, the most common lung cancer. Doctors await tests on whether it spread.
