Trump pauses Russia sanctions two days before deadline

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Oct. 16 pausing a broad Russia sanctions law. Sanctions are restrictions on trade and financial dealings. The law targeted Russian officials, banks and energy tankers, and the deadline to enforce it was Oct. 18. Trump told Congress the pause is in the national interest.
