Greens propose scrapping training wage for apprentices

New Zealand's Green Party proposes scrapping the training wage so apprentices receive the full adult minimum of $23.95 an hour, instead of $19.16. Co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick said apprentice numbers were at a 15-year low. The party said people should not be forced to live in poverty while they learn on the job.
