Man sole survivor after strike killed 39 relatives in Jabalia home

Al Jazeera reported Oct. 16, 2026, that Mahmoud Khalla, 40, was the only survivor after an Israeli strike destroyed his family's five-storey home in Jabalia, northern Gaza, on Dec. 21, 2023, killing 39 relatives inside. He had left to find provisions minutes earlier and is homeless, sleeping in streets and visiting the cemetery daily.
