Congressional commission to study Weitzman Museum joining Smithsonian

A congressional commission will study whether the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia should join the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. The plan was reported by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on 13 October 2026 and noted by ARTnews on 14 October 2026. No transfer has occurred; Congress and the Smithsonian would still need to act.
