Louvre director warns museum risks closure without renovations

The Louvre in Paris risks having to close without major renovations, director Christophe Leribault warned on 14 October 2026. ARTnews reported he called the risk a 'disaster' if work does not go ahead. France 24 reported he said the museum could reach a point where it cannot stay open safely.
