Exiled Nicaraguan writer Gioconda Belli shortlisted for Writing as Resistance Award

Gioconda Belli of Nicaragua is on the inaugural PEN-Inge Feltrinelli Writing as Resistance Award shortlist, the narrowed field from which a winner is chosen. PEN International and Feltrinelli Publishing released the list on 13 October 2026. Belli, president of the now-suppressed PEN Nicaragua, was stripped of her nationality and forced into exile.
