Giraffe Bio targets 5% more copper with engineered biomolecules
Giraffe Bio has developed biomolecules that target copper minerals to help mines recover up to 5% more copper. The compounds are made by engineered microbes in bioreactors, then added to existing flotation circuits — bubble tanks that separate valuable minerals — to improve recovery. The focus is copper demand from AI data centers and electrification.
