Big phone carriers fell hard Oct. 9

AT&T dropped 9.9%, Verizon 8.8% and T-Mobile 13.3% on Oct. 9, 2026, Barron's reported. CNBC reported it was Verizon's worst one-day drop since 2002. My take: investors are pricing in — building into today's prices — a new, cash-rich competitor squeezing sales and forcing prices down.
