DistroKid confirms small removal after UMG claims, disputes lawsuit

DistroKid removed a very small number of recordings in response to claims by Universal Music Group, vice-president of artist services Amanda Ferri confirmed to Billboard on Oct. 12. The distributor, which uploads independent music to streaming services, said it strongly disputes the allegations behind UMG's September lawsuit alleging deceptive trade practices and copyright infringement.
