Chrétien and Harper lead campaign to restore 24 Sussex Drive

Former Prime Ministers Jean Chrétien and Stephen Harper will co-chair a fundraising campaign for 24 Sussex Drive, empty since 2015. The Rideau Hall Foundation seeks $50 million in private donations from Canadians and permanent residents. Prime Minister Mark Carney pledged government funding for security. A formal launch comes in early fall, with the Royal Architectural Institute running a design competition.
