Matthew Lawrence said Sally Field 'kind of really became another mother figure' when he filmed Mrs. Doubtfire aged 12, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly reported by Variety on 11 October 2026. Lawrence, who played the son of Field's and Robin Williams' characters according to Variety, said the cast spent time together before rehearsals.
