Google has embedded Nano Banana 2 Lite, an image generator, directly into both the Gemini app and Google Search as of February 2026. The move gives Google a distribution edge: Search sees vastly more traffic than standalone tools like OpenAI's or Midjourney's consumer interfaces, meaning image generation reaches mainstream users without friction or extra steps.
