Army Schedules Firing-Squad Execution for Fort Hood Killer

The Army will execute convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan by firing squad at Fort Hood, Texas, at 1 p.m. CST on Dec. 3, 2026. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, killed 13 soldiers there in 2009 and was sentenced to death in 2013. If it proceeds, it would be the first execution by the U.S. military since 1961.
