
Navi Pillay Wins 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for Work on International Law
Navi Pillay has won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize "for her efforts to promote peace and international law." The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award in Oslo on October 9, 2026. It honors the former South African judge and ex-UN human rights chief for strengthening global rules meant to prevent crimes against humanity. She was chosen from 287 nominees.
