Anthropic Bans Sustained Verbal Abuse of Claude

Anthropic now bars sustained verbal abuse of Claude under its usage policy updated October 8, 2026. Since an August change, Claude can end chats with persistently abusive users. The company says the ban targets only extreme, repeated cruelty with no clear purpose, and does not cover frustration, pushback, dark fiction themes, or testing and research.
