
Mercedes to skip cooling system for Singapore heat-hazard race
Mercedes has decided against running Formula 1's optional driver cooling system in Singapore, despite the race being declared a heat hazard with forecasts past 31C. The kit — a pump-fed vest circulating cooled liquid — is optional. In 2024, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were treated for heat exhaustion after the night race.
