Australian Open chief raised ending men's best-of-five sets
In a SportNXT conference speech, Tennis Australia chief Andrew Abdo raised shortening men's Grand Slam matches from best-of-five sets, first to three, citing competition with other sports for audiences. The proposal drew backlash. Australian Open accounts later posted "five-set tennis is here to stay". Abdo also said tennis should explore scoring changes.
