Jessica Rothe and Chris Landon have broken the story for a third Happy Death Day film, Deadline reported in September 2026. The first film grossed $125 million worldwide in 2017, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Development stalled after sequel Happy Death Day 2U fell 48 percent short of that gross amid a budget dispute with Blumhouse, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
