Ten Companies Want to Run New .agent Web Addresses

Ten companies, including Meta and OpenAI, applied to run .agent, a new website ending like .com, in ICANN's 2026 application round published 7 October 2026. Because several firms want the same name, ICANN must pick one winner first. My advice to builders is to avoid relying on .agent addresses until that choice is made.
