Michael Smith gets 18 months for $8m AI-song streaming fraud

Michael Smith, 54, of Cornelius, North Carolina, was sentenced to 18 months in prison on 6 October for an AI-song streaming fraud. U.S. District Judge John G. Koeltl imposed the term in Manhattan. Smith pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The judge ordered forfeiture of $8,091,843.64 and two years' supervised release.
