Type One Energy raises $200M toward 2034 fusion plant

Type One Energy raised $200 million in Series B funding on Oct. 6, 2026, led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Clutterbuck Capital. The Knoxville company said the money advances its 400-megawatt stellarator — a twisted-magnet design for fusion power — targeted for 2034. CEO Christofer Mowry said it covers about half the plant cost.
